No need of aadhar for birth and dearth cerificates

Not to mention the importance of the Aadhaar card in India. Aadhaar has been touted as mandatory for any certificate in the country. But, the central government has announced that the Aadhaar card requirement is not mandatory for certain certificates. Among them are the latest birth and death certificates. The Registrar General of India (RGI) has recently stated that Aadhaar is not required for registration of these certificates.

Advocate MBS Anil Kumar of Visakhapatnam has requested through the Right to Information Act (RTI) that the Aadhaar card must be submitted for registration of death certificate.

In response to his request, the RGI stated that the Aadhaar number was not required for birth and death certification. The Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD) Act of 1969 states that registration for birth and death certification is currently underway. It said in its circular that if someone voluntarily submits the Aadhaar, the document should not be stored in the database.
